Quanto è? — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the app Quanto è? uses and protects your information when measuring distances, saving personal references and exploring the wonders of the world.
1. Overview
Quanto è? is an iPhone app that helps you measure routes, save personal measurements and understand distances through meaningful comparisons.
The app is designed with privacy in mind: no ads, no advertising tracking and no sale of personal data.
Quanto è? is developed and maintained by Massimo Russo as an independent developer.
For privacy-related questions: max@max-russo.com .
2. Data Used by Quanto è?
Quanto è? uses only the information necessary to provide its features.
- Personal measurements: names, dimensions, measurement units, categories and emojis selected by the user.
- Route information: distances, duration and checkpoints associated with GPS measurements.
- App preferences: notification settings and other configuration information.
- Purchase status: information required to verify Premium access through Apple's services.
This information is not used for advertising or user profiling.
3. Location and GPS
Quanto è? uses your device's location when you explicitly start a GPS measurement.
- Location information is used to calculate distances and manage route checkpoints.
- During an active measurement, location updates may continue while the screen is locked or the app is in the background.
- GPS session information is processed locally to support measurements and session recovery.
- GPS coordinates are not uploaded to the app's CloudKit database.
- You can revoke location permission at any time in your iPhone settings.
Quanto è? does not use your location for advertising or behavioral profiling.
4. Local Data Storage
Personal references and saved measurements are stored locally on your device.
You can edit or delete your saved references directly within the app.
Certain technical information and preferences are also stored locally to support GPS sessions, free usage limits and notifications.
5. iCloud Synchronization (Premium)
Quanto è? Premium includes synchronization of personal references through Apple iCloud and CloudKit.
When Premium is active and iCloud is available:
- Saved personal references are synchronized using the private iCloud database associated with your Apple account.
- Synchronized information may include reference names, categories, measurement values and other descriptive details.
- GPS coordinates from recorded sessions are not uploaded to CloudKit.
- Cloud data is not used by the developer for advertising or profiling.
- Apple's terms and privacy policies also apply to the iCloud service.
If iCloud is temporarily unavailable, your local references remain on your device. Synchronization can resume when the service becomes available again.
6. Premium Purchases
Quanto è? Premium is a one-time purchase with no recurring subscription.
Purchases, payments, transaction verification and restoration are handled through Apple and the App Store.
The developer does not directly receive your complete payment card information.
7. Notifications
Quanto è? may provide local notifications related to GPS measurements and, with Premium, interesting facts about the wonders of the world.
Notifications are scheduled locally through iOS notification services.
You can manage notification preferences within the app and disable notifications in your iPhone settings.
8. Analytics and Diagnostics
Quanto è? does not include advertising SDKs or third-party behavioral analytics services.
Apple may provide diagnostic information, crash reports or aggregated usage statistics, depending on your device settings and Apple's services.
Such information is handled according to Apple's applicable privacy policies.
9. Children
Quanto è? is intended for a general audience and is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.
Parents or guardians should supervise use by minors when appropriate.
10. Your Data and Rights
You may at any time:
- View, edit or delete personal references saved within the app.
- Revoke location and notification permissions through your device settings.
- Manage your iCloud account and associated data through Apple's services.
- Uninstall the app from your device.
- Contact the developer with questions or requests concerning your personal data and applicable privacy rights.
Uninstalling the app removes its local application data but does not necessarily delete information already stored in iCloud.
11. Updates to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app, its features or applicable requirements.
The latest version will always be available on this page.
